Knee Conditions
at Foot Foundation
The knee joint is one of the most complex and heavily loaded joints in the body, absorbing forces with every step, jump, and change of direction. Because of this, the knee is highly susceptible to both overuse injuries and degenerative changes.
Foot mechanics, hip control, and muscle strength all play a major role in knee health. Problems such as flat feet, poor footwear, or hip weakness can increase stress on the knee and contribute to injury.
At Foot Foundation, we provide specialist podiatry and physiotherapy care for knee pain, combining:
Gait and biomechanical analysis
Custom orthotics to improve knee alignment
Shockwave therapy for tendinopathy and chronic pain
Strengthening and rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient
Footwear assessment and load management advice
Common Knee Conditions
Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (Runner’s Knee): pain at the front of the knee due to poor tracking of the kneecap.
Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper’s Knee): overuse injury affecting the tendon just below the kneecap, common in sports involving jumping and sprinting.
Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITB Friction Syndrome): pain on the outside of the knee caused by irritation of the ITB during running or cycling.
Knee Osteoarthritis: degenerative changes in the knee joint leading to stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility.
